Congratulations to Global Polymer Industries, Inc. on receiving the 2020 LAIC Growth & Achievement Award, presented at the 2021 LAIC Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 27th! We are very proud to have you as valued partner in our community.

Global Polymer Industries (Global) is manufacturer of net shape compression molded Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW) plastic products. UHMW is a very difficult plastic to mold due to its unique properties.

Global has developed proprietary processes that efficiently convert the UHMW raw material into complex parts. Global supplies products to many of the world’s largest companies in multiple industry segments, and ships around the globe.

Global Polymer started in 1993 in a small garage in Arlington, SD. Global has transformed and grown substantially in capabilities, capacity, and number of employees over the past 28 years. Global made the decision to relocate the operations to Madison to meet and manage the growth demanded by our customers.

Global broke ground on November 14th, 2012, for the current 75,000 square foot facility. The commencement of production in September 2014 marked the beginning of Global Polymer’s new era in Madison.

Global employs approximately 135 employees and is in the process of hiring an additional 25 employees bringing the total headcount to 160. Global’s employees come from Madison and surrounding communities and are the core of the company’s success.

Among the many honors Global has received over the years, they were the proudest to receive the Outstanding Private Employer Award (Large Employer Category) from the SD Board of Vocational Rehabilitation for their work with Valiant Living in Madison for providing employment opportunities for our neighbors with disabilities.

Global Polymer is owned by Todd Huntimer and Peter Gustaf and is represented by Jeff Hieb, Plant Manager, and Derek Mertz, Business Analyst.
