The sale of a property owned by East River Electric Power Cooperative to the city of Madison was
officially closed on Thursday, November 1. East River Electric has owned the facility, which is located on South Highland Avenue, since 1981.
The cooperative used the building as a regulator maintenance shop but outgrew the space. East River transitioned its regulator shop into part of a new building that the cooperative built west of Madison at its service center location.
The new building will allow East River to meet its regulator maintenance schedule and keep a growing stock of regulators in service. It also provides them with much-needed vehicle storage space and office areas.
