Downtown Summer Concert Series Coming to Madison
(Madison, S.D.) June 5, 2018- The Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce (GMACC) and Lake Area Improvement Corporation (LAIC) are excited to announce a fun entertainment option in Downtown Madison this Summer. DownTown in MadTown, a summer concert series and family fun night, will begin on July 17th. This summer concert series will consist of six total family friendly entertainment nights, three in July: 17th, 24th, 31st and three in August: 14th, 21st, and 28th. Each week will start at 6pm and be “open” until 9pm. The 100 Block of North Egan Avenue will be closed allowing families to enjoy a band, food vendors, shopping options, kids’ activities and more!
With the help of Annie Creek, LLC, this event is planned to continue beyond just 2018. The family-friendly night on the town will feature the following bands:
- July 17th – Orchard Fire
- July 24th – Nathan Dean Band
- July 31th – Crossroad Station
- August 14th –Just Duet (Dueling Pianos)
- August 21th– Kirsten Thien Band
- August 28th –Guilty Pleasures Orchestra
“DownTown in MadTown will be a great way for the entire community to experience a great family-friendly environment”, stated GMACC Executive Director Eric Hortness. “There will be something for everybody. Whether it’s enjoying live music, shopping, kids’ activities, or just a nice summer evening, this new event will bring the community together in a fun atmosphere. There will be no admission charged to come and enjoy the music. Obviously, if you want to do some shopping or eat, there will be costs, but the event itself will be free to attend.” LAIC Executive Director Rory Maynard added “This new event will not only bring families, friends and the community together but create a positive economic impact by bringing people down town. We are excited to bring this event to Madison!”
