The state Department of Environment and Natural Resources is recognizing the city of Madison’s public water system and the system’s operation specialists with the Drinking Water Certificate of Achievement Award. Madison City Commissioners on Monday recognized the award, which is presented to cities whose public water system has met the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act and the state of South Dakota’s regulations for supplying safe drinking water to the public.
The city’s water system operation specialists are Rick Nighbert, Jan Tieman, Jerry Mohr, Kester Dahl, David Neu, Shawn McGillivary, and Martin Voeltz.
