Madison Central School District adds auto mechanics shop to high school building

The Madison Central School District recently announced plans to add a 2,500 square foot auto mechanics shop area onto the high school to assist the school’s career and technical education (CTE) program.

The CTE auto mechanics course began two years ago and 27 students have already taken the course.

In 2013, the district received a grant from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development in the amount of $377,000 for their CTE program and there is still about $250,000 remaining. The school received approval from the state to use the grant money to add more shop space to the high school.
