The Lake Area Improvement Corporation’s Annual Meeting was held on April 7, 2016, at 11:45 a.m. at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse in Madison, SD. Julie Gross welcomed and thanked those present for their attendance. Special guests were introduced. Gross thanked the Board of Directors for their service, the investors for their commitment to the LAIC and our other partners in economic development.
President Jeff Bloom called the meeting to order. The LAIC mission statement was read. And the minutes of the last Annual Meeting on March 31, 2015 annual meeting were approved.
Bloom presented the 2016 Board of Directors slate. Jeff Bloom, President; Paul Schultz, President-Elect; Mike Malone, Vice President; DeLon Mork, Secretary/Treasurer and Floyd Rummel, Past President; members Dr. Mike Brooke, Dr. José-Marie Griffiths, Mayor Roy Lindsay, Scott Pedersen, Linda Salmonson, Mark Stoller and Dustin Williams. The slate was approved.
Gross gave the 2015 recap which included a financial summary and the 2015 audited financials. Before and after pictures of business expansions, new construction and housing developments were shown. A video of the Lakeview Industrial Park featuring the LAIC’s new spec building was shown.
Madison Regional Health System was recognized as the 2015 Growth and Achievement Award recipient. Tammy Miller and staff accepted the award.
Gross introduced guest speaker, Shawn Lyons, Executive Director of the SD Retailers Association.
Those in attendance were thanked for their participation and the Annual Meeting was concluded.
